I would like to extend my greetings and continued support to IAAOWA on the occasion of launch of its own website. Websites are an important means of communication, increase visibility and can also act as strategic platform to extend one’s reach beyond local borders. Under the charismatic, capable and visionary leadership of its patron Ms Smita Murmu, IAAOWA has achieved one milestone after another and treaded new and innovative paths. Her guidance and eye to all important details has led to success of many a charity, cultural and health camps, the latest being Swasthya Health Camp for contractual employees with Spectacles distribution at the Office of CAG of India. Here I would also like to acknowledge the contribution made by past and present presidents and office bearers of IAAOWA Ms. Alpana Prasad, Ms. Vani Sriram Ms. Susan Viswanathan, and now Ms Anita Johri, supported by Ms Meenakshi Subramanian, Swati Singh, Arpita Desai, Karthika, Gawsiya Inamdar and many more for being an important part of IAAOWA’s growth and relevance over the last few years.

The growth of IAAOWA under the present leadership has been marked by a number of interesting and productive events and unique and powerful programmes such as the International Women’s Day event in March 2024 with remarkable, courageous women as guests of honour. The conception and implementation of these programmes were the result of the vision and involvement of Patron, Dr Smita Murmu, as also the launch of online magazine Abhikhya. Executive Committee, Gen. Secy. Swati Singh and Joint Secy. Dr Arpita Desai and other members have proved their worth again and again, organising and executing every task to a high standard, managing their own professional commitments and family responsibilities. Outstation chapter members have also taken IAAOWA from strength to strength.

My warmest wishes to the entire IAAOWA team again led by their dynamic Patron Dr Smita Murmu for continuation of their stellar innings and with assurance of my continued support. All of us are greatly enriched with this meaningful contribution to society. I also applaud the coordination and efforts behind the team for launch of IAAOWA’s website. I am glad to pen for this as an appreciation of the commendable efforts put forth by the team and wish for its grand success.

Warm Greetings to All!

The Indian Audit and Accounts Officers’ Wives Association (IAAOWA) demonstrates the spirit of compassion and action, particularly in reaching out to marginalized communities.

As Daniel Goleman, psychologist and author, said, "True compassion means not only feeling another's pain but also being moved to help relieve it."

I want to express my deepest gratitude to our patron, Dr. Smita Murmu, for her exceptional leadership. Under her guidance, IAAOWA has become a symbol of hope, dedicating its resources and efforts to uplifting the less fortunate in our society.

It brings immense pleasure to be involved in IAAOWA's initiatives, such as organizing health camps, providing follow-up care, and distributing school bags, hygiene kits, blankets, and food to underprivileged communities. The gratitude expressed by those we serve echoes the sentiment that in giving, we receive something even more valuable – a sense of fulfillment and purpose.

IAAOWA consistently educates the community by organizing health awareness seminars on topics like breast cancer and mental health. Our cultural events, including Holi, Deepawali, Teej, and Navratri, not only strengthen our bonds but also reflect our shared values and unity.

Once again, I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to Dr. Smita Murmu, our Patron, for her guidance in creating grassroots programs that target the health, education, and overall well-being of underserved communities. Dr. Smita Murmu has touched countless lives with her grace, wisdom, and determination. She inspires her teams with infectious optimism and a "can-do" spirit that surpasses limitations.

IAAOWA's contributions have made a profound difference in the lives of many, and I am proud to be associated as a "Supporter."

Warm Greeting to all readers! I am thrilled to share my experience with The Indian Audit and Accounts Officers’ Wives Association (IAAOWA) which has undergone an inspiring transformation in last few years under the esteemed leadership of Dr. Smita Murmu as Patron, IIAOWA.

While reflecting on my journey with the association, I could clearly see how several initiatives have been undertaken in last few years to expand the membership as well as the outreach & social impact of the Association. In the year 2021, opening the membership of IAAOWA to women officers and expanding the activities of association from New Delhi to States (starting with state chapters in Odisha, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh) gave association a Pan India Base and helped forge new bonds in IA&AS fraternity.

As an IA& AS Officer, I feel that our role in Association changed from mere “Observers” to “Supporters” of IAAOWA. Women Officers could support the activities of IAAOWA by attending various charity events, encouraging participation by officials of IA&AD in socio-economic outreach activities and bringing professional expertise in maintaining Accounts. Under the empathetic guidance of Patron, Dr. Smita Murmu, executive committee’s decision to organize many events/programs on holidays, their gracious gestures to make us feel included and well thought out reasonable expectations from officers helped us in balancing official work and wholehearted participation in activities.
