A virtual breating technique workshop was organised by Health Committee of IAAOWA on 8th May 2021, in which children of IAAS officers were taught deep breathing exercises by Mrs. Priya Parikh and her daughter, Ashvi. The Fun shop was to help the kids achieve a calm focussed and a happy state, that would inturn positively impact their immunity power. It was an opportunity to expose the young minds to some easy life changing techniques to aid better oxygenation, and also reduce stress and anxiety. Over 30 kids in the age group of4 to 12 years participated in the session.
An E- mela of the banarsi saree was organised by the livelihood committee from 30th June to 3rd July in order to uplift the small scale handloom weavers from Banaras.
The Covid 19 pandemic and lockdown has caused massive disruption in almost every sector of the economy in India and informal sector has been worst affected. The handloom industry has been engulfed with manifold problems since its inception and pandemic worsened the situation.
The weavers stopped weaving temporarily as the cost of the fabric dropped, with marriages and other ceremonies being cancelled.
Expand [+]Trapped for so long within the confines of our homes, we all were at our wits end. The pandemic did curb our movement, but not the creativity. The cultural committee organised an online extravaganza on 12th June 2021. The event was indelible with wide array of participants, presenting beautifully prepared performances.
The evening witnessed melodic singing, enchanting dance numbers, an enlightening skit by children and shayaris and poems. The audiences were glued to the screens, witnessing the hard work and enthusiastic efforts of all the participants.
